Faresmaathoda is located in South Huvadhu atoll of Maldives. The island consist of a population of 1837 people. Earlier, Fares and Maathoda was two separarte island, and back in 1998 two islands were combined and formed Faresmaathoda. The inhabitants here speaks in a unique form of Dhivehi language which is called " Huvadhu Bas" a language only Huvadhu people use to speak which is common to the language known as "Sinhala" the language spoken by srilankan people. Faresmaathoda is proud to have most talented blacksmith and fishermen in Maldives.
